Revolutionary design is not new to OBO, but this helmet really showcases this. The option to attach an integrated throat guard which hinges with the movement of the keeper, is something never-before seen and certainly helps this fantastic product stand out and push hockey helmets forward from anything previously seen.
Working from the inside out allowed OBO to make it more anatomically shaped to the head, and according to keeper testing - more comfortable than any other helmet on the market. It is specifically wider through the forehead and has a rounder back plate to hold the helmet secure around the base of the head

The sizing info for the ABS is based on head circumference as follows:
- XS : 51-55 cm
- S : 53-55 cm
- M : 55-58 cm
- L : 58-62 cm
OBO have always tested their helmets to higher levels than the various (limited) standards there are so protection level was never a question with this model. The key thing about this design is the attention to detail paid to every aspect from the range of vision, to the integrated neck guard and simple strapping system.
Having bought 7 of the helmets for club keepers, family members and no myself, there are only three points I would draw people's attention to (and why I didn't rate it a 10):
1. The sizing tends to come up a little small with the helmet being quite narrow around the forehead. If you are near the boundary for sizes I would say go with the bigger size.
2. The neck guard brackets are the higher setting ones (black) so the guard only comes down half way. You can buy the lower setting ones (grey) from OBO for £1.50 but I would like to see them come with the helmet.
3. The bad that comes with the ABS model is disappointing for the price. It is just a string bag and not very protective for your shinny new helmet.
