Cricket Bat Size Guide & Equipment Size Charts
To find the right cricket bat size, measure the player's height (in their normal shoes) and match it to the chart below. A player between 152cm and 162cm (5'0"–5'3") takes a Size 5 bat, and most adults over 180cm (5'11") take a Short Handle (SH). The charts on this page are the same sizing data shown on every product page, covering bats, batting gloves, pads, helmets, clothing and shoes.
Cricket Bat Size Chart
Bat size is decided by height, not age. As a rough rule of thumb only: Size 3 suits most 8–9 year olds, Size 4 most 9–10 year olds, Size 5 most 10–11 year olds and Size 6 most 11–13 year olds — but children vary a lot, so always check the height chart. If a player sits between two sizes, choose the smaller one: a bat that is too long or too heavy damages technique.

Batting Glove Size Chart
To find your glove size, measure in a straight line from the tip of the middle finger to the base of the palm. A hand measuring 16–17.5cm takes a Junior glove; 20–21.5cm takes an Adult glove.

To find your pad size, measure in a straight line from the middle of the kneecap down to the top of the foot (the instep). A measurement of 30–35cm takes a Junior pad; 41–44cm takes an Adult pad.

Cricket Helmet Size Chart
Measure around the head just above the ears and eyebrows — where the helmet band will sit. A head of 56–58cm takes a Medium (Junior) helmet; over 58cm takes a Large–XL (Senior).

Cricket Sizing FAQs
What size cricket bat does a 10 year old need?
Most 10 year olds take a Size 4 or Size 5 cricket bat, depending on height: 149–152cm takes a Size 4, and 152–162cm takes a Size 5. Height is more reliable than age, so measure the player and use the chart above.
What does SH (Short Handle) mean on a cricket bat?
Short Handle (SH) is the standard adult bat size, suited to players over 180cm (5ft 9in). Adults between 174cm and 180cm often prefer a Small Adult size for a lighter pick-up.
What if a player is between two bat sizes?
Choose the smaller size. A bat that is too long or too heavy forces bad technique, especially for juniors who will grow into the next size soon anyway.
