The Balling Control 75 Ultralow Groove Sage is a field hockey stick built for technically gifted attackers who rely on drag-flicking, 3D skills and sharp aerial play. Part of Balling's Control Series™, it sits in the more aggressive end of the range thanks to its ultralow bow profile, while retaining the softer, connected feel the series is known for.
The 24.5mm bow placed at 200mm from the head positions the ball close to the stick face, giving players faster lifts, tighter angles and quicker execution through set pieces and open play. The control groove running along the face adds consistency to drag-flick releases, helping guide the ball through the motion with greater accuracy. A thinner profile also makes the stick nimble for fast ball carry and crisp passing at pace.
Built with 75% Japanese carbon fibre reinforced by fibreglass and Kevlar, the Control 75 Ultralow Groove Sage delivers a responsive yet measured feel — stiff enough for confident striking, but with enough give to keep touch and feedback sharp. Backhand Hitting Armour protects the reverse side during aggressive play, Sticky Face technology helps maintain ball contact at the sweet spot, and AntiQuake Foam in the handle absorbs vibration for a more comfortable grip. The sage green colourway gives it a clean, understated look that stands out on the pitch without shouting for attention.
