These standard bat sizes should be used as a rough guide for when choosing a cricket bat. Many factors can influence the choice of bat including size, weight, brand make, wood grade, shape, style and many more. Sizes overlap as the ideal bat size for each player is heavily influenced by personal preference. The Academy size is not a standard bat size among cricket brands and is included for convenience; it is perfectly normal to go straight from Harrow to Short Handle when sizing up and vica versa when sizing down.
