What is the best cricket bat for junior players?

People often say they are only just starting out so we don't want to spend too much or they are growing very quickly so we would like something they can grow into.
Neither of these things will work, firstly if when a young cricketer is starting out they are given something that they are unable to hit off the square or score a boundary with they will never pursue the sport  further. The second issue is if the bat is too big and too heavy they will spend most of their time in the pavilion watching as the bat will not enable them to hit the ball properly.
So using the size chart below always make sure the bat is the right length the other thing to remember is it that you're looking for a soft and responsive bat in order for the shots the youngster plays make maximum impact.
We would suggest trying one of the smaller specialist manufactures who have  paid a lot of attention to making light responsive bats that are good for youngsters, Funky would be a prime example.
